Risk Management Excellence Awards

Entries are now open for the 2012 Statewide Mutual Risk Management Excellence Awards. Entries close 13th July 2012.

Description of Awards and How to Enter

The Risk Management Excellence Awards exist to promote:

  • Recognition of risk management as a management structure,
  • Awareness of risk management issues,
  • Innovation in risk reduction, and
  • Recognition of that innovation.

Risk Management Excellence Award - Excellence by a NSW Council in implementing any risk management programme using the principles of identification, evaluation, control and measure. The winning Council will receive a perpetual sculpture and a plaque for their achievement.

The judging panel will consist of members of the Risk Management Committee.

Rules

  1. All applications must be accompanied by a letter from Council supporting the application.
  2. An application from a Council with a representative on the Risk Management Committee is permissible, however, the Council’s representative on the Committee will be replaced by another Board member, or persons approved by the Board.
  3. The judges’ decision is final.
  4. Seven (7) bound copies of the entries should be sent to:
    • The Executive Officer, Statewide Mutual, Level 11, 66, Clarence Street, SYDNEY, NSW 2000
    • Entries should be marked RMEA.
    • Entries must be received by close of business on Friday 13th July 2012.
  5. An electronic copy of the full application must also be provided as part of the submission.
  6. The application must contain an Executive Summary of the entry (limited to a couple of paragraphs) highlighting its features.
  7. The winning entries will be announced at the annual Statewide Risk Management Conference on Thursday 30th August 2012.
  8. These awards are limited to NSW Local Authorities.
  9. Initiatives, ideas, concepts and programmes submitted become public property unless specifically protected by some legal condition. These conditions must be made known at time of lodgement of the entry.
